Activities & clubs
My activities and clubs expand my experiences.
The Iona Prep Peer Minister program is a highly competitive and selective mentorship program made up of upperclassmen. It is an honor to mentor Freshmen and Sophomores as they navigate high school. It feels good helping out someone whose shoes I was in only a short time ago.
As the grandson of immigrants from Cuba and Greece, my heritage means a lot to me. In 2024, a classmate and I proposed creating the Puerto Rican Heritage Club at Iona Prep. The Club will launch in November 2025 with the mission of bringing together students of Puerto Rican heritage and sharing our culture with other students.
Given my school’s proximity to Wall Street, The Finance Club is a forum to hear from industry professionals, discuss current events within the financial markets, as well as learn about the process of investing. It also led to my participation in the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition my junior year, where I managed a mock portfolio, researched investments, and made investment recommendations. It was a challenging task, but one that brought me closer to professional goals.
